At Energy North, we’re pioneering a vision to produce and export green ammonia in abundance, from Australia's most ideal green hydrogen generation locations.
Doing clean, green ammonia differently
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to make a major contribution to global decarbonisation by leveraging Australia's unique attributes to produce green ammonia at scale.
Energy North is an independent Australian green ammonia developer building a large scale green ammonia production facility to supply green ammonia to its customers under long term contracts.
“I want to make a difference. A difference to global warming and climate change. A difference that will help the world significantly reduce its carbon footprint and leave a better world for our future generations”Scott Criddle, CEO and Founder, Energy North
Global emissions have reached a new all-time high of 36.8 gigatons of CO2 per year.
Why hydrogen?
Lightest, smallest and most abundant element in the universe
Clean and Renewably energy (only water waste which can be recycled)
Endless natural resource supply
Store compressed for long periods
It’s called green hydrogen because it has zero carbon dioxide emissions.
WHAT IS GREEN hydrogen?
Green hydrogen is the only type of hydrogen produced that is carbon free. Hydrogen is produced from renewable energy sources such as the wind, sun, hydropower or geothermal energy.
“With its abundant natural resources and land, and a stable economic and political setting, Australia is the perfect place to produce green hydrogen and its derivatives for domestic supply and export to customers around the world.”Reinhardt Matisons, Executive Vice-President & Chief Marketing Officer, Energy North
Energy North’s ambition is to bring together world experts, global customers, global supply chain and global solutions to produce green ammonia at scale.
Our foundation project aims to develop 4.2 Mtpa of green ammonia production assets in Northern Australia by 2031.

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM
Our Values Towards a Decarbonised World
Health, Safety & Environmental Ethics
We put the mental and physical well-being of our team, visitors, and the environment first in every stage of our projects. Our decisions focus on minimising our environmental footprint, and impact to cultural and community values, promoting sustainability, and prioritising the health of our ecosystems. We’re committed to delivering green energy and supporting related industries to meet Net Zero 2050 targets while ensuring everyone’s health and safety.
Utilitarianism
We embrace a philosophical approach that aims to maximise overall well-being for the greatest number of stakeholders. Our goal is to achieve outcomes that benefit everyone by reducing carbon emissions and developing sustainable energy and products. We are committed to ensuring financial viability and, above all, customer satisfaction.
Intergenerational Equity
We advocate for a fair distribution of resources and benefits between present and future generations, including absolute gender equality. In the context of green hydrogen, this means making sure that the benefits of our project—like cleaner energy and environmental sustainability—are available to future generations without compromising their ability to meet their own needs.
Technological Pragmatism
We believe in using technology in practical ways to tackle real-world challenges and enhance human well-being. For us, this means applying the latest advancements in renewable energy and hydrogen production to achieve our sustainability goals efficiently and effectively.
Synergy
We thrive on teamwork, believing that collaboration amplifies our effectiveness and efficiency. When we work together, we achieve more than we could individually. Our approach fosters a united effort where the collective results far exceed the sum of our separate contributions.
Safety is an integral part of everything we do – the health and safety of people is valued above all else
We will work in partnership with community stakeholders, including Traditional Owners to protect social and heritage values, and identify opportunities to enhance existing communities
We will be environmentally and socially responsible when planning, implementing and operating our projects.
We are 100% customer centric - we use a collaborative approach working together with our customers and all stakeholders to determine a best-for-project solution
We are honest, ethical and authentic in everything we do
We value and respect each other’s diverse talents, initiative and leadership.
We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values equality and diversity
By weaving these values into every aspect of our project — from planning to execution and beyond — we ensure the well-being of our team and stakeholders, uphold ethical standards, address environmental, heritage and social impacts, and commit to long-term sustainability, all while pursuing our technological and economic goals.
As a sustainable energy company we support the objectives of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDGs 7, 9, 11, 13 and 17... Learn more
"We are currently on track for at least a 2.7C hotter world by the end of the century — and that’s only if countries meet all the pledges that they have made. Currently they are nowhere near doing that."
